A Note From the LES
The Best for Our Lovers
Amsterdam
Taxi Destiny

It's raining

And I'm walking home
Across the Williamsburg bridge
Feeling that good kind of melancholy
The kind you can wrap your arms around
Hold on to
And call your own.

Looking out
Over Attorney Street
People laughing
Some crying
Everyone dancing
With a partner
A partner. we don' know
Hell, lots of partners
Some of them
With their eyes closed.

Manhattan rises
like a wave
behind a pack of tenement buildings.

A couple of Hasidism
Dress in black gabardine
Breathing heavy as they pass

Joggers and bikers
Pass in opposite directions
Headsets on
Tuned into different frequencies
Tuned out of the same

Some girl
Thunder bolt tattoo
On her arm,
Tiger stripped top
She's weaving in and out
On a spider bike
Popping wheelies
Over graffiti reading
LES

I got no justifiable reason
Nothing I could prove
In a court of law
But Sometimes
Like now
I feel so damn anxious
And happy
Just to fucking be alive
